Summer Holidays in Lanzarote

The volcanic island of Lanzarote welcomes visitors throughout the year, thanks to its incredible climate. But what can visitors coming during the summer months expect?

Traditionally, the island is a popular destination for Spanish families from the mainland, as the weather during July and August is significantly fresher than that of Madrid, for example. Whilst it will still be sunny and hot, the breeze that comes off the Atlantic Ocean helps to keep it from being stifling.

Barcelona – City Beautiful Busy

Dubbed as most of the city “style” in Europe after Paris and Milan. Modern Mediterranean-style mixed. Each corner of the city and many buildings there, your eyes will not be satisfied watching the splendor of this city is thick with a touch of traditional style and modern-Mediterranean and Catalonia. It was so funny moments endless. Ranging from jewelry, furniture, works of designers, haute couture fashion both locally and internationally, can be enjoyed.

The city with the busiest port in Europe is also rich in history and culture. Barcelona museums like the work of Antoni Gaudí, the architect of the famous eccentric neo-naturalistic work. If the recipient of the works of Pablo Ruiz Picasso, there is a place to visit, while in the city, the Museo Picasso Montcada. Besides his work, the museum also shows the proximity of the teacher with Barcelona until the end of his life.

Tarragona, Costa Dorada in Catalonia

Tarragona, Costa Dorada in Catalonia, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. It is a city of Roman origin (Tarraco its Latin name, when it was the capital of the Iberian Peninsula).

You can admire the remains and traces of its Roman origins throughout the city, from the famous Roman amphitheater, rises on the second century, almost at the lake, to the first century Roman circus, very special because it was built, unlike most such buildings in the center of the city, so that its architecture has unique features. Roman is also of the Praetorian, a tower that eventually became the royal palace (XVI century) and later in prison.

The urban area of Tarragona in Roman times was surrounded by a great wall of about 3500 meters, whose remains now define the historic core. It has the distinction of being the oldest preserved Roman wall outside Italy. For lovers of antiquity, it is advisable to follow the archaeological tour of Tarragona, which allows you to discover all the wonders that are still preserved Roman city-wide, not forgetting of course a stop at the balcony of the Mediterranean, a viewpoint that rises about 40 meters above sea level and from which you can enjoy wonderful views of the port of Tarragona, Miracle Beach and the amphitheater. Here, following tradition, we should “play ferro”, ie touching the iron railing, which according to legend brings luck to everyone who plays it.

If on one hand archeology is one of the most important aspects of the cultural offer of Tarragona, on the other hand, the city offers a wonderful sandy beaches, one in the city, just below the balcony of the Mediterranean, Miracle Beach, to which you can walk from anywhere in the city, and other little away from Tarragona, as the beach or the beach Arrabassada Llarga.

Tarragona cuisine prevail in the typical products of a Mediterranean coastal town: fish and seafood, cooked alone or in paella and noodle dishes, and products is known as the Camp de Tarragona, hazelnuts, olive oil and vegetables mainly. The wines of the Appellation of Origin Tarragona are uniquely suited to accompany desserts.

Tarragona is a city quiet and relaxing, ideal for strolling through the streets of old town, surrounded by history, to enjoy a great city and beaches to enjoy, of course, all water sports from sailing and surfing, to dive (for the latter is famous excursions to see the wreckage submerged in the waters of the port of Tarragona).
